The Springboard Consultancy Annual Conference 2010

Our annual conference is the highlight of our year. Once a year, we get together with the licensed trainers in the UK, and some from overseas, to network, compare notes, celebrate successes, hear from a top keynote speaker and gain new skills and ideas for the coming year. Trainers often report back enthusiastically on how much the annual conference means to them and, particularly for those trainers working in isolation, it provides a unique opportunity to meet and network with trainer colleagues. This year we extended the conference invitation to include our valued clients and friends of the Consultancy, which has added an extra vibrancy to the occasion and increased the networking opportunities for all involved.

The 2010 conference was held at Dunchurch Park, near Rugby. Once again we had beautiful weather for the event, and the feedback from participants was if anything more enthusiastic than the previous year! We were delighted to welcome Samira Ahmed from Channel Four News as our keynote speaker who gave a really interesting and informative insight into what her job entails and some fascinating anecdotes about incidences from her professional life.

The theme this year was ‘Lighting Fires’ and we were all inspired and our sparks rekindled by listening to presentations from trainers from around the globe, as well as some very moving and thought provoking stories from past participants, who reminded us of what our work is all about. Practical and useful workshops provided by trainers from the network were offered on a wide range of topics, to enhance our personal and professional development.

At the conference we were delighted to celebrate freelance trainer Patricia Cresswell having delivered her 100th Springboard programme. Well done to Patricia for such a fantastic achievement.
