The Springboard Consultancy

Spring Forward for In-house Trainers

springboard consultancy - training and work development for people and organisations

The Springboard Consultancy in the UK is exclusively able to award you a Spring Forward licence.

To become licensed, you need to apply to us and successfully complete the licensing course. You will be interviewed before we accept you on the course - this is simply to ensure that you have the appropriate experience and potential to become a Spring Forward trainer and to save you wasting your time and money.

The licensing course

The licensing course is an intensive 5 day residential course. It equips you with all the materials, information and experience that you'll need to sell, set up and deliver top quality Spring Forward programmes, to customise the programme to your organisations' issues and to publicise them appropriately inside your organisation.

You'll work with Jenny Daisley, Chief Executive of The Springboard Consultancy and the creator of Spring Forward. Jenny researched and developed the programme herself, so you will benefit from her first hand knowledge and experience of setting up and running the programme in different organisations.

It runs at Holwell, our residential training centre in the UK, or if you have a group of trainers to be licensed, can be run at your own training venue.

The licensing course is pass/fail and you will be given feedback as the week progresses so our final decision should not come as a surprise to you. You will know whether you are licensed before you leave on the final day.

Your licence

Following your successful completion of the licensing course, you will be licensed to deliver the Spring Forward programme within your organisation for 3 years. The licence is renewable at the end of the 3 years.

Only trainers trained and currently licensed by us are able to call themselves Spring Forward trainers and use the Spring Forward logo.

The ground rules for running the programme

As a Spring Forward trainer you will be expected to put these ground rules into practice. Many of them are already accepted as good training practice. Think about the implications for you of working with each of these before you apply:

Self-nomination
Because the Spring Forward programme enables people to develop themselves, (as opposed to training in a skill or technique) participants have to make the decision to participate themselves or be willing to be encouraged by others.

Wholistic
A big theme is work/life balance and the programme encourages participants to develop themselves outside as well as inside work.

No magic answers
The trainer doesn't tell a participant what to do with their lives. The role of the trainer is to enable participants to explore options and support them in making their own choices.

Confidentiality
Participants need to feel free to raise any issues in or outside work in the knowledge that confidences will not be repeated outside the course room and that information on individuals will not be fed back to the employer (other than an attendance record).

Demonstrate equality - maximum access
We operate an equal opportunity and diversity sensitive policy in the way we set up and deliver training. We expect licensed trainers to do the same. The practical implications of this will affect your choice of venue, your pricing policy, your presentation of the programme, your use of language and much more.

Take action - small steps
Thinking and good intentions are turned into action. The emphasis is on taking small, practical steps forward.

It's their programme
The programme is delivered for the participants and their issues and challenges, using their examples, their vocabulary and recognising the reality of their lives.

Build people up and stretch them
Everything is positive in Spring Forward. You need to want to build people up and then to stretch them so they often achieve more than they expected or believed possible.

Networking
Participants get an enormous amount from each other during and after the programme. You will need to facilitate this aspect.

Role models - lead by example
Including lots of examples and providing good case studies of people who have been successful in their lives, who have progressed inside an organisation or who have risen to deal with huge challenges, keeps the programme relevant and down-to-earth. You will also be seen as a role model so think about aspects of your life which will inspire or be relevant to your participants.

The selection process

Look at the selection criteria above, download the application form at the bottom of this page, complete it and send it back to us.

We will then contact you to arrange an interview with Jenny Daisley. In countries outside the UK, this will be a telephone interview. Your interview will be followed by a quick decision.

Other trainers say:

'Spring Forward - and invest in your own personal and professional development.'

'Spring Forward is so well structured, well designed and extensively researched that it gives me a lot of confidence in talking about it. It's so nice that someone else has done all the ground work!'
